Landscape edging brands: who makes what

Most edging brands specialize: some sell plastic coil and no-dig kits at home centers, some sell steel or aluminum strip to landscapers, and some sell rubber or concrete borders. Knowing which is which tells you what you are actually buying.

How to compare edging brands

  1. Pick the material first. Brands mostly specialize, so the material choice narrows the field. See materials compared.
  2. Read the real numbers. Height, thickness or gauge, total length, number of stakes or spikes, and connectors. Listings for the same product sometimes disagree; trust the maker’s spec sheet when there is one.
  3. Check what is included. A cheap coil with too few stakes costs more once you buy extra stakes.
  4. Match the depth to the job. If grass is the problem, a shallow no-dig kit will not solve it. See how deep to install landscape edging.
  5. Price it per foot. Divide the price by the length to compare packs fairly. Typical ranges are in landscape edging cost.
